Went to the Y to swim this morning but only got a few laps in. My ankle didn’t feel right swimming, which is ironic because i wanted to swim to take some of the pressure off of it. every time i would kick my foot extended and i could tell it was stretching those somewhat sore ligaments too far. So i opted for treading water instead. Arms felt like superman afterwards. Once the ankle is good swimming will be a great low impact exercise to build that extra bit of fitness into my training.
The run tonight was very nice with temps in the mid 50’s, what a change from previous weeks. I hit the hills of mt. missoula, and again out to the soccer complex but still maintained a nice quick pace. I pushed enough to get the HR up, but not enough to really be in tempo range. All in good time. Pace has been awesome on the past few runs, but mileage is lacking, so I’ll have to work on that in the coming weeks. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to 50/week and get back on track.
